Southern Cyprus has signed an agreement on Thursday, allowing foreign companies to drill for natural gas on the southern coast of the island. The group made up of companies ENI of Italy and Kogas of Korea, together paid 150 million Euros at the signing of contact, which gives them the right to drill in 13 designated blocks. Such a course of Southern Cyprus certainly will increase tensions in relations with Turkey, which says that the gas found off the coast of the island, to be divided between the two nations of Cyprus.
