The Mayor of Girne, Murat Şenkul, made a statement about the multi-storey parking projects initiated to solve the parking problem in the center of Girne and areas of Kervansaray.
The Mayor of Kyrenia stated that multi-storey car park projects are ongoing and currently 3 multi-storey car parks with a total capacity of more than 1,200 cars will be built in the areas of Yeni Liman, Achik Pazar and Kervansaray.
Mayor Shenkul also reported that at the Girne bazaar, work has begun on the construction of an underground parking lot for approximately 110 cars. He stressed that two of these projects will be financed from local resources, while the other two will be implemented through public-private partnerships, demonstrating his commitment to solving the parking problem in Girne.
The city mayor also stated: “We will solve the problems of our city KYRENIA, one by one,” noting that efforts will continue to make the city become a livable city and solutions will be developed to meet the needs of the community.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Security has announced new requirements for employers applying for work permits for third-country nationals. Starting February 25, 2025, employers will be required to submit a security deposit of 250 euros and provide a notarized undertaking. This regulation is based on Article 34 of the Regulation on Work Permits for Foreigners under Law No. 63/2006.
